Framework
My counseling approach is largely informed by a combination of theoretical frameworks that recognize the unique identity, strengths, and growth edges of the students I serve and how I as a counselor might help them to self-actualize into scholars who are flexible, critical, and resilient.
These frameworks would include Existential and Person-Centered Counseling, in addition to Reality Therapy.

Creativity
What I think separates me from some of my colleagues and what also makes me a valuable asset would be my willingness to think "outside of the box."
Inevitably, ideas that depart from the status quo can be challenging to implement, but their newness excites the potential for critical team dialogue on how services for students, faculty, and staff can be improved.
See some of the interventions that I've implemented on my IMPACT PROJECTS webpage [LINKED].
Realizing an end goal does not happen in a vacuum.
Consequently, a part of my process as an advisor and as a team player is to implement interventions that are driven by data, and to share best practices from current literature in counseling, advising, student affairs, and beyond.
As an educator, I believe it's important to remind ourselves that people are our work, so the intention and knowledge behind how we serve others is important.
