Individualized College
and Career Counseling + Original Resources
SEPT 2023 - DEC 2023
CollegeEYE Advising was a semester-long advocacy project that I designed and delivered to 20+ students at Eleanor Roosevelt High School based on a need for individual college and career counseling aligned with the American School Counselor Association's (ASCA) position statement on Individual Planning for Postsecondary Education [LINKED].
Throughout my time at ERHS, I met with students individually and in small groups where I did the following:
1). Assessed students’ career curiosity, maturity, and confidence through written questionnaires and semi-structured interviews.
2). Counseled from a client-first framework, frequently inviting students to identify and share session goals that guided the counseling process and interventions used.
3). Wrote and shared thorough process notes with students to clarify their progress, growth edges, and action steps for subsequent meetings.
This project ultimately culminated in my developing and delivering 100+ pages of printed and laminated, original resources to the School Counseling Department at ERHS— these that were informed by the needs of the students I worked with in recurring sessions.
